PURPOSE OF THE ORGANIZATION
The International Association of Counselors and Therapists is a premier association for holistic practitioners providing a forum where members may exchange ideas, information, techniques, and methodologies.
Establishing itself apart from the rest as a multi-disciplined association, which specializes in holistic techniques. IACT's membership includes healers, psychologists, clinical social workers, coaches, stress consultants, NLP practitioners, hypnotherapists, biofeedback specialists, nutritionists, educators, mental health therapists, substance abuse counselors, medical practitioners and others in the helping, healing arts.
More than ever before there is an undeniable urgency for complementary healthcare practitioners to unite. Our vision is to light the path of unity by providing a place where practitioners can come together under one umbrella; to explore, indulge and renew their passion for diverse holistic health care disciplines.
2. MEMBER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Member agrees to:

Conduct themselves professionally, ethically, and in accordance with the standards of their respective profession and the ethical guidelines of the Organization.

Maintain all necessary certifications, licenses, and insurance as required by their field and the Organization and shall obey all national & state laws and regulations concerning the practice of the healing modality.

Members are never to promise a cure for any condition or problem, nor give advice or otherwise pass comment on any medical, psychiatric, or psychological problem or condition unless they have training and qualifications in these fields.

Members cannot use the IACT name or logo to advertise their services.

Members will not permit considerations and/or bias on any grounds. As well members will never attempt to influence or impose their own personal views on any client. Where there is a potential for any of these situations to exist, it is the practitioner’s duty to refer the client to another suitable practitioner.

Members are required to report to the Association, any unethical behavior by any other member that can be substantiated.
3. ANNUAL RENEWAL AND REVIEW

Membership in the Organization is subject to annual review and renewal.

Renewal will be based on the Member’s compliance with this Agreement, their adherence to ethical guidelines, and their performance as assessed through the annual review process.
4. Ethical Guidelines
The Member agrees to follow the Organization’s ethical guidelines,ethical guidelines are essential for maintaining professional integrity, ensuring client well-being, and upholding the reputation of the healing professions. Below is a comprehensive list of ethical guidelines that can apply to hypnotherapists, psychologists, and other healing modality practitioners, which can be adapted for your organization's membership agreement.

Additional Considerations for Specific Modalities

Must obtain informed consent about the use of the specific modalities, explain its potential effects, and avoid using hypnosis for manipulative purposes.

Should ensure they provide evidence-based treatment, respect the client’s emotional safety, and avoid any form of emotional or psychological manipulation.
5. BREACH OF TERMS OR GUIDELINES AND TERMINATION OF MEMBERSHIP

If a Member is found to be in violation of any of the terms or condition mentioned, including but not limited to breach of ethical guidelines, failure to maintain licensure, or misconduct, the Organization reserves the right to terminate membership.

In the event of termination, the Member will be given written notice, including a brief explanation of the reasons for termination.

The Member has the right to appeal the decision of termination to the Organization's Committee, which will review the case and make a final decision.
6. FEES AND PAYMENTS

The Member agrees to pay any membership fees as established by the Organization.

Fees are due annually and are non-refundable.

The Organization reserves the right to adjust fees as necessary, with proper notice given to the Member.
7. LIABILITY AND INSURANCE

The Member is responsible for maintaining their own professional liability insurance and any other necessary insurance as required by their field.

The Organization does not assume liability for the actions, omissions, or conduct of any Member, and Members are expected to maintain full responsibility for their professional actions.
8. AMENDMENTS TO THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The terms and conditions may be amended, modified, or updated by the Organization at any time. The Member will be notified of any such changes, and continued membership after the amendment constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
